Goldsmiths Library Research Café : Refugee Week

Goldsmiths Library Research Café : Refugee Week In-Person

What is a Research Café? At Research Cafés, Goldsmiths academics and students give a presentation about their research in a relaxed, friendly environment. Presentations are followed by a short Q&A session. These are free public events in an accessible space with refreshments provided.

This month...

SUPPORTING REFUGEES AND CAMPAIGNING FOR A BETTER FUTURE
Professor Sue Clayton has worked for many years on refugee issues and  supported dozens of campaigns to both rescue and welcome refugees to the UK. Her film Calais Children: A Case to Answer was screened in the UK High Court and resulted in two important changes in child refugee law.
In this session Sue will screen The Stansted 15, a short film she made about a group who protested against refugee deportations. And she'll read an extract from her book The New Internationalists: Activist Volunteers in the European Refugee Crisis, which has interviews from over 100 volunteers whose actions have made a difference.
