Job shadowing - Access and Inclusion coordinator In-Person

The access and inclusion coordinator has specific responsibility to support students with a variety of disabilities and have to liaise with outside stakeholders & agencies. This will including a number of departments within the library including the universities disability and well-being  teams. An important part of this role is to help students to access assistive technology on dedicated computers to access safe spaces within the library environment; and to understand some of the barriers that students can encounter when trying to access reading material in printed or electronic formats. Shadowing will include an introduction to the reasonable adjustments within the Equalities Act 2010, a look at assistive technology and a chance to look at a fictional  case study and decide for yourself what would be the best way to support an individual with specific needs within an academic library.
