ChatGPT Open Discussion In-Person / Online

Will ChatGPT revolutionise the way we teach and learn or should we ban it?

This is an open discussion for all staff and students about ChatGPT. Should we be teaching it as a productivity tool or banning it as a kind of cheating or plagiarism?

The discussion will be facilitated by Dan McQuillan (Computing Student Democracy & Ethics Officer) and Andy Freeman (Computing Academic Misconduct Officer)

Dan McQuillan researches the social impacts of AI and the potential for convivial technologies. His book Resisting AI: An Anti-fascist Approach to Artificial Intelligence was recently published by Bristol University Press.

Andy Freeman is a lecturer in Creative and Social Technologies, Computing AMO and PhD student with an interest in critical technical practices.
